Our Kaupapa
SHOW OFF was created to help provide a platform and bring light to aspiring young creatives in Tāmaki Makaurau. We work hard to make sure at every step of what we do, everyone is treated with the utmost respect to express themselves in the art they choose to share at SHOW OFF events. To make sure that in everything we do, we create an environment where everyone feels safe, loved, and free to be exactly who they are.
To do this, we have a set of policies we ask everyone (EVERYONE) to follow to keep the community of Show Off strong and encouraging.
MANAAKITANGA
Show Off is dedicated to upholding Manaakitanga, which encompasses hospitality and care. We strive to create a supportive and respectful environment where all individuals feel valued and cared for. This requires the work of everyone.
Empathy
We do our best to approach everyone (talent, customers, workers) with understanding and compassion, so that those who collaborate with us feel as though their experience with us is personal.
Support
To provide assistance and encouragement to help individuals succeed in their passion is super important to us. If you have any complaints of our services, please get in touch. We want to hear from you.
sERVICE
We take pride in throwing the best (totally unbiased) parties in Tāmaki Makaurau. To do this we aim to work with artists and venues that also align their ethos with our kaupapa. In doing this we make sure that those on board with us are also committed to interacting with event attendees/other artists with nothing but respect and love.
TŪRANGAWAEWAE
At Show Off we love COMMUNITY and are committed to embodying Tūrangawaewae, which means creating a sense of belonging and ensuring that every individual feels a rightful and valued place within our community. To do this we prioritise:
INCLUSION
To ensure that our events are for everyone regardless of gender, sexuality, race or religion, we have ZERO tolerance to discrimination of any kind. If at any of our shows, events, or interviews you feel targeted by anyone, please approach our staff.
RESPECT
We recognise and honour the unique contributions and perspectives that each creative brings. If you feel your work is too ‘niche’ or ‘confusing’, we want to see it! Get in touch with us to see how we can help support your art.
